Gluing Techniques

New turners often have limited access to wood, and it is often green, and of limited thickness or size.  So a dry glue block for mounting is the ticket.  George Vrondiska in this short video helps us along with a basic technique.

Experienced turners often explore unconventional materials.  Countertop cutoffs are priced right, are stable, and offer a wide variety of colors and textures.  Turning everything from a beautiful object to a shop fixture is open to you.  But how do you get the blank to the size your need?  George shows how.
